Araqchi: Negotiation track with the United States continues and messages exchanged via intermediaries

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday that the negotiation track with the United States remains ongoing, and messages are being exchanged through intermediaries.

Araqchi said in a press statement: "We put forward the seven-day plan and listened to the US side's view on it," adding that "we are currently studying the US position and will present our response within the next few days."

For his part, US President Donald Trump earlier on Thursday said his special envoy Steve Witkoff is working to reach an agreement with Iran and is making "very good progress," while the US administration is simultaneously considering options to resume wide-ranging military operations against Tehran in the coming weeks.

Trump added that the Iranians are "ready to give us anything to stop what is happening," noting that reaching an agreement with Tehran "is not the option I really want," a comment that signals continued US pressure on Iran alongside the negotiation track.
