FC Barcelona is monitoring the list of available players ahead of the winter transfer window in order to strengthen the two full-back positions.
The "Blaugrana" made a large effort this summer (after returning to a 1:1 base) to implement radical changes to the squad, particularly in the attacking line.
Despite completing a large part of the plan, coach Hansi Flick and the sporting management believe the full-back position needs further reinforcement, despite limited financial resources.
As a result, Sport reported that the club's scouts are closely monitoring players who specialize in this position whose contracts are nearing their end, given there are interesting options on the market.
Barcelona has options to cover the flanks: Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde on the right, and João Cancelo, Chavi Espart and Alejandro Balde on the left (although the first two are primarily right-footed).
Balde suffered difficulties at the start of the season, and his departure in January cannot be ruled out if the player expresses a desire to leave; he was close to leaving this summer.
