Dollar exchange rates fall in Baghdad and Erbil on Wednesday evening
The dollar fell to 167000 Iraqi dinars per $100 at the Kifah and Harithiya exchanges in Baghdad, down from 168500 in the morning, with a similar decline in Erbil.
US dollar exchange rates fell Wednesday evening in markets in the capital Baghdad and in Erbil, capital of the Kurdistan Region, compared with rates recorded in the morning.
At the Kifah and Harithiya exchange markets in Baghdad, the dollar reached 167000 Iraqi dinars per $100, after having recorded 168500 dinars in the morning.
Selling prices declined at money exchange shops in Baghdad’s local markets, with the selling price at 167500 Iraqi dinars per $100 and the buying price at 166500 Iraqi dinars.
In Erbil prices also fell: the selling price was 166700 Iraqi dinars per $100 and the buying price 166600 Iraqi dinars.
Dollar exchange rates had risen noticeably Wednesday morning in Baghdad and Erbil, coinciding with the start of implementing the decision to adjust the official exchange rate, amid volatility and instability in the parallel market.
