Ministry of Finance: Iraq's revenues through end of July 2026 amounted to 39.096 trillion dinars and the deficit was 26.329 trillion
Ministry of Finance data through the end of July 2026 show total general revenues of 39.096 trillion dinars, of which 30.356 trillion came from oil, against expenditures of 65.424 trillion dinars.

Iraqi Ministry of Finance data on federal budget execution through the end of July 2026 showed that total state revenues reached about 39.096 trillion dinars, while oil revenues accounted for about 78% of total resources.
The data showed that oil revenues reached about 30.356 trillion dinars, versus about 8.740 trillion dinars from non-oil revenues, equivalent to about 22% of the total.
Public expenditures recorded about 65.424 trillion dinars, leading to a deficit between revenues and expenditures of about 26.329 trillion dinars through the end of July.
Employee compensation (salaries) topped current budget spending at about 35.875 trillion dinars, followed by social welfare expenditures at about 15.989 trillion dinars, then grants, subsidies, interest and other expenses at about 5.096 trillion dinars.
Commodity-related supplies amounted to about 1.939 trillion dinars, service-related supplies about 139.3 billion dinars, while asset maintenance expenses amounted to about 41.4 billion dinars.
On the debt-service side, the data showed that total spending on indebtedness reached about 6.239 trillion dinars through the end of July.
The figures reflect the widening gap between state revenues and its expenditures, as expenditures exceeded revenues by about 26.3 trillion dinars during the first seven months of 2026.
Separately, economist Nabil al-Marsoumi said in a tweet on the "X" platform that spending on salaries and social welfare reached 51 trillion dinars during the first seven months of the current year, while general revenues fell to 39 trillion dinars. He added that revenues covered only 76% of the value of salaries and social welfare, which, he said, explains the actual deficit gap that reached 29 trillion dinars.
