Mbappé sparks crisis between Zidane and Real Madrid

Relations began to sour between Zinedine Zidane, the new head coach of the France national team, and Real Madrid in an early clash over Kylian Mbappé’s injury.

Mbappé was injured during France’s match against Turkey last Friday in the UEFA Nations League, a game that ended 1-0 to France with the goal scored by Mbappé himself.

L'Équipe reported that Real Madrid is extremely upset with the French national team, saying the club was not satisfied with how "Les Bleus" handled Mbappé’s situation; he arrived at the France camp suffering from slight pain in his left knee, the same area where he later picked up the problem.

L'Équipe added that Real Madrid informed the French team’s medical staff of all details about Mbappé’s condition and had recommended caution, saying he should rest and preferably not play against Turkey.

But Mbappé started the match and scored before coming off in the 59th minute while feeling pain.

The French federation confirmed that Mbappé will leave the camp and will not be replaced, meaning he will miss France’s matches against Belgium on Monday, Italy on October 2, and Belgium again on October 5.
