The Iraqi Ministry of Defence on Friday announced the death of Military Inspector General Lieutenant General Jassim Muhammad Alwan Al-Tamimi, who died on 22 October 2026 after a terminal illness; the defence minister offered his condolences.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defence on Friday announced the death of the Military Inspector General, Lieutenant General Jassim Muhammad Alwan Al-Tamimi, after he had been afflicted by a terminal illness.
The ministry's media spokesman, Major General, Special Forces, Yahya Rasool, said in a statement that Lieutenant General Jassim Muhammad Alwan Al-Tamimi died on Thursday, 22 October 2026.
The statement noted that Defence Minister Naif Makeef al-Shammari mourned the deceased and offered his condolences to the leadership of the Iraqi Army, personnel of the Ministry of Defence, and the family of the deceased.
