China's city of Wuhu is preparing to host the 2026 OMODA and JAECOO International Users Summit, to be held from 18 to 24 October 2026, to showcase artificial intelligence, smart-vehicle and new-energy technologies, with a focus on innovations in sustainable mobility.

The parent company said in a statement that "its spending on research and development reached 6.672 billion yuan during the first half of 2026, an annual increase of 28.3%," noting that "the summit will feature field demonstrations of the automatic parking system (SIVP) and the AI-based smart-cabin system (SIAS)."

The company added that the OMODA 4 SHS-H, OMODA 5 NEXT and OMODA 7 SHS-H models will undergo long-distance driving tests, while the OMODA 7 SHS-H will introduce globally a new 5-kilowatt-hour hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) battery technology.

Regarding driving range, the JAECOO 7 SHS-P covered 828 miles, about 1,333 kilometers, on a single tank of fuel and one charge in tests conducted at the UK UTAC Millbrook facility, exceeding its official WLTP-rated range by 11.14%. Meanwhile the JAECOO 8 SHS-P recorded a total driving range of 1,660 kilometers in Indonesia and earned a title in the Guinness World Records.

On environmental sustainability, the company said that "renewable energy provides 52.77% of the electricity used at its vehicle manufacturing facilities," and that these facilities include five nationally designated green factories and two factories with net-zero carbon emissions.

The company noted that "recycled aluminum technologies and integrated casting can reduce emissions by 80% compared with primary aluminum," pointing out that "the proportion of low-carbon aluminum used in the JAECOO 7 SHS model is about 75%."

The company's recycling capacity includes 100,000 tonnes of steel scrap and 100,000 tonnes of aluminum scrap, as well as 10,000 tonnes of plastic waste, as part of its efforts to promote sustainable manufacturing and reduce carbon emissions.
