Oil Minister Bassim Khudair al-Abadi said on Saturday that cooperation with American companies forms a key pillar for strengthening the oil and gas sector's capabilities and speeding up the implementation of strategic projects.

Minister of Oil Bassim Khudair al-Abadi said on Saturday that cooperation with American companies represents a fundamental pillar in developing Iraq's oil and gas industry.
Al-Abadi added in a statement that reliance on these companies stems from their technical expertise, high efficiency and advanced technology, which, he said, contributes to strengthening the sector's capacities and improving production efficiency.
The minister affirmed that the Ministry of Oil is working to remove all obstacles and accelerate contracting procedures in preparation to begin implementing strategic projects in cooperation with major American companies, naming among them Chevron, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Halliburton and Schlumberger.
Al-Abadi said these projects will help develop oil and gas fields, increase production and achieve the optimal investment of natural resources, supporting the ministry's plans and focusing on technology transfer and infrastructure development for the oil and gas sectors, ultimately achieving the country's economic development goals.
