Coalition: Intercepted and Destroyed Ballistic Missiles Launched Toward Riyadh and Khamis Mushait

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Thursday that it had intercepted ballistic missiles launched by the Ansar Allah (Houthi) group toward areas inside Saudi Arabia.

The coalition spokesman, Major General Turki al‑Maliki, said: "We intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Ansar Allah (Houthi) group toward Riyadh." Al‑Maliki added that "a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi group toward Khamis Mushait was intercepted and destroyed."

Ansar Allah said its military spokesman, Yahya Saree, announced earlier on Thursday that it had shot down an armed Saudi reconnaissance drone over Taiz governorate, and said the group had targeted Saudi concentrations with ballistic missiles and King Khalid International Airport in the capital, Riyadh.

These developments come amid escalating clashes between the Houthis and Saudi‑backed forces in Yemen, with widening military operations in the southwest of the country, particularly in Taiz governorate and areas near the Bab al‑Mandeb strait.
