A responsible source at the Saudi Ministry of Energy said early Wednesday, October 14, 2026, that an administrative building belonging to Saudi Aramco in the city of Dhahran in the Eastern Province was targeted on Tuesday evening, causing a limited fire, confirming that no injuries or deaths were recorded and that the competent authorities began dealing with the incident and took the necessary measures.

The announcement came after loud explosions were heard in Dhahran near the company's headquarters, while similar explosions were recorded in the capital Riyadh at around the same time.

The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a missile over Dhahran's airspace and destroyed it, and that fragments of the missile fell on a residential area, but it did not provide further details about the incident.

It was not yet clear whether the administrative building was hit directly or struck by debris from the intercepted missile, and the company or authorities did not disclose any potential impact on Aramco's operations.

The incident comes amid an ongoing escalation between the Houthi movement and the Saudi-led coalition, after the Houthis earlier called for evacuating the surroundings of Aramco facilities, while U.S. President Donald Trump accused Iran of being behind the resumption of attacks on the kingdom, which we covered in Trump accuses Iran and warns the Houthis of the consequences of their attacks.
