Coordination Framework leaders hold meeting with prime minister and finance minister to discuss cabinet and 2027 budget
A well-informed source: a meeting this evening with the prime minister and finance minister to discuss the weapons registry, completing and voting on the cabinet, and the 2027 budget.

A well-informed source said on Monday that leaders of the Coordination Framework will hold a meeting in the presence of the prime minister and the finance minister to discuss voting on completing the government cabinet and next year’s budget.
The source added, "The Coordination Framework leaders will hold a meeting this evening, in the presence of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi, to discuss completing the dossier on placing weapons under state control, finishing the ministerial cabinet and voting on it at the end of this week or the beginning of next week."
The source continued, "The meeting will also host Finance Minister Faleh Sari to discuss the draft 2027 budget law and the files related to it — financial, economic and some of which are political in nature."
The Coordination Framework had affirmed in an emergency meeting last Friday night that June 30, 2027 is the agreed deadline for implementing the constitutional article addressing the weapons file, calling on all parties to adhere to a comprehensive de-escalation.
A well-informed source also revealed that the State of Law coalition led by Nouri al-Maliki has officially nominated Yasser Sakhil for the Interior Ministry portfolio, and Haider Bahaa, who currently serves as dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Nahrain University, for the Higher Education Ministry portfolio.
