The Coordination Framework will hold a regular meeting tomorrow, Monday, with Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi in attendance to discuss a number of political and security files and to review the main points al-Zaidi will address during his anticipated visit to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi will undertake a Gulf tour next Wednesday that will include Saudi Arabia followed by Kuwait to discuss shared security and economic issues, as well as regional developments and their impact on Iraq’s security and economic situation, in addition to common matters across multiple levels.
Al-Zaidi’s anticipated tour comes after a planned visit to Riyadh in July (Tamuz/July) was canceled amid rapidly unfolding security developments in the region.
Relations between Iraq and the Gulf states have been marked by anticipation and caution since the start of regional military operations in February 2026, amid repeated accusations from regional countries that armed factions are exploiting Iraqi territory to launch drone attacks targeting regional economic interests.
