UK maritime centre: Drone caused tanker incident near Suhar; IRGC reports tanker fire after mine strike in Hormuz
The UK Maritime Operations Centre said at dawn Monday that a drone struck a tanker near the Suhar anchorage in Oman, while Iran’s Revolutionary Guard reported a fire on a tanker after it hit a naval mine while attempting to cross an unauthorized route in Hormuz.
The UK Maritime Operations Centre said at dawn Monday that an oil tanker was involved in an incident near the Suhar anchorage in the Sultanate of Oman after being struck by a drone.
The centre said local authorities are assisting with the evacuation of the tanker’s crew.
In a parallel development, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said a fire broke out on an oil tanker after it struck a naval mine while attempting to cross an unauthorized route in Hormuz.
