Iraq's gold markets recorded a decline in prices on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, compared with Tuesday levels, while the global ounce moved in a narrow range near midday.

The price of a gram of 21‑carat reached about 153,000 Iraqi dinars; a gram of 24‑carat stood at about 175,000 dinars; 22‑carat at about 160,000 dinars; and 18‑carat at about 131,000 dinars per gram.

A comparison with Tuesday's reading for 21‑carat, recorded at about 153,955 dinars, confirms that Wednesday's decline is an actual daily drop rather than a limited momentary change.

Internationally, the spot ounce traded roughly in a band between about $4,150 and $4,165 during a morning observation and a subsequent update, while December gold futures remained slightly higher with modest gains versus the previous session.

This range is reflected in local jewelry and bullion prices tied to the raw metal price, prompting goldsmiths and citizens to monitor levels before deciding to buy or sell, because update differences between the morning and before noon can change the gram cost by hundreds of dinars without altering the day's general downward direction.

Manufacturing fees and shop margins are kept outside raw metal price tables, so final retail prices differ from one shop to another.

Iraq's market interest is also linked to dollar and currency movements, after Al‑Wasat observed a rise in the parallel exchange rate in Baghdad and Erbil in a report Dollar price today in Baghdad and Erbil Wednesday rises to 167,000 dinars, making monitoring the yellow metal part of daily savings calculations for households and traders.

Sellers and buyers are advised to verify the piece's purity, its net weight, and the announced gram price at the moment of contracting, because the above indicative prices reflect the value of raw gold only and do not include manufacturing fees or any local taxes if present.
