الحلبوسي الإيزيديون مكوّن أصيل وشريك راسخ في تاريخ العراق

Baghdad — Al-Wasat Iraqi newspaper 

Speaker of Parliament, Haybat al-Halbousi, on Tuesday affirmed that the Yazidis are an indigenous component and a steadfast partner in Iraq's history.

He said, in a statement received by Al-Wasat Iraqi newspaper: "I extend my sincerest congratulations to the Yazidi people in Iraq and the diaspora on the occasion of the arrival of Eid Jamma, the Festival of Gathering, wishing them a holiday marked by peace and stability."

He added: "The Yazidis are an indigenous component and a steadfast partner in Iraq's history and national identity, and what they have been subjected to of crimes and terrorism will only increase our adherence to the state's duty to do them justice, safeguard their rights, protect their existence, and consolidate their safe and dignified return to their areas."

He concluded: "Iraq will remain a homeland for all its sons, strong in its diversity, united by the will of its people."
