The Iraqi delegation is chaired by Deputy Minister of Oil for Gas Affairs Ezzat Saber Ismail, in meetings that began on Sunday and continue until 27 October at the World Trade Center in Moscow, and include the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Council, the 28th ministerial meeting, and the 8th summit of heads of state and government of the forum's member countries.

From 53 to 70 percent

Ismail explained that Iraq's speech will review the progress achieved in investing associated gas and reducing its flaring, alongside the implemented and ongoing projects in Al-Khalafiya, Basra, Al-Fayhaa and Artawi, and their role in supporting electricity production and local industries and reducing environmental impacts.

What does this mean for electricity and imports

The deputy minister indicated that the associated gas investment file enjoys government support as it is a strategic priority, and that this support has contributed to accelerating projects and developing infrastructure, thereby reducing gas flaring and reliance on imports and securing part of the needs of power generation plants and local industries.

He pointed out that Iraq's participation will allow heads of delegations to meet to discuss opportunities for cooperation and exchange expertise and technology, and to encourage investment in gas treatment and transport projects and the development of its infrastructure, in pursuit of self-sufficiency.
