French star Michael Olise led Bayern Munich to a comprehensive 6-1 win over Magdeburg in the second round of the German Cup at the Allianz Arena, after scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Olise opened the scoring ten minutes into the match, benefiting from a cross by Moroccan Ismaïl Sbaïri, then set up the same player for a goal in the 21st minute before Olise added his second personal goal — Bayern’s fourth — from a penalty in the 50th minute.
With that performance Olise reached his 12th goal for Bayern Munich in all competitions since the start of the season, moving ahead of Ballon d'Or winner Harry Kane, who has scored 10 goals, according to media reports.
According to media reports, Olise has also become the most offensively productive Bundesliga player across all competitions since the start of the season, and has broken into the list of players with the most goal contributions at club and national-team level in Europe’s top leagues.
Olise ranked second on that list with 24 contributions (16 goals and 8 assists), level with Harry Kane who has the same figures, behind Barcelona star Lamine Yamal by one contribution, who totals 25 contributions (14 goals and 11 assists), according to media reports.
