Pakistan affirms support for Saudi Arabia and condemns Houthi attacks
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha Airport, praised Saudi and coalition missile interceptions, called for an immediate halt to the attacks and affirmed Pakistan’s continued support for Riyadh.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed that his country stands firmly and in solidarity with the Saudi leadership and the Saudi people in the face of Houthi attacks.
Sharif, in a post on the platform X, denounced the attacks carried out by the Houthis against the kingdom, notably the targeting of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha Airport, which resulted in civilian casualties and injuries.
Sharif praised the "high vigilance and professionalism" demonstrated by the Saudi Armed Forces and coalition forces in intercepting ballistic missiles, and commended their efforts in protecting lives and safeguarding the kingdom's security.
He called on the Houthi group to stop these attacks immediately, stating that Pakistan will remain alongside Riyadh in confronting any threats.
Sharif's remarks came days after the activation of "collective deterrence" within the framework of the "Makkah Alliance" for joint defense. Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman had announced on 5 October (this month) an emergency meeting of the alliance's political and defense strategic committee, which included Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey.
