Pezeshkian: We will not build any nuclear weapons and will allow inspectors into Iran

Al-Wasat Iraqi newspaper - New York
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that a "climate of distrust" prevails between Iran and the United States, while at the same time affirming that his country does not wish to possess any nuclear weapons and will allow inspectors to enter the country.
This came during an interview Pezeshkian conducted with the American channel CBS News, on the program "Face the Nation" that the network broadcasts.
Pezeshkian added: "We are not trying to build any nuclear weapon and we will allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency to enter the country, and it is difficult to hold a direct meeting with Trump amid the climate of distrust between Iran and the United States."
The Iranian president warned that developing nuclear weapons is forbidden (haram), stressing that even if some in Iran wanted to make a nuclear weapon, they "religiously are not permitted to take that path," he said.
