Civil Defense: Small fire breaks out at Qayara General Hospital in Nineveh due to an electrical short circuit

A Civil Defense source said Sunday evening that a fire broke out inside Qayara General Hospital, south of Nineveh governorate.

He explained that the flames erupted due to an electrical short circuit on the hospital's second floor, specifically inside one of the laboratory assistants' sleeping rooms, causing material damage to the room's contents.

He added that firefighting teams were able to fully control the fire without any human casualties being recorded.

He pointed out that the rapid response of Civil Defense teams contributed to containing and extinguishing the fire in record time and preventing its spread to the wards and adjacent departments, confirming the safety of all healthcare staff and patients hospitalized inside the hospital.
