The U.S. president's envoy, Tom Barrack, confirmed on Thursday that Ankara's return of the Zelykan camp to Baghdad according to an agreed mechanism and timetable represents a turning point that achieves Iraq's sovereignty and Turkey's security at the same time.
Barrack wrote in a post on the platform X, followed by Al-Wasat Iraqi newspaper, "History rarely announces its turning points; rather it weaves them quietly, and Ankara's return of the Zelykan base to Baghdad according to an agreed mechanism and timetable represents one thread of this transformation, as Iraq's sovereignty and Turkey's security are realized at once."
He added, "What appears from afar to be chaos is in fact a region weaving its own order."
