U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: Maximum-Pressure Campaign Has Become a Campaign of Total Isolation for Iran

Baghdad — U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday that the maximum-pressure campaign against Iran has now shifted to a campaign of total isolation.

Bessent said, "Iran no longer has any oil on board ships and its cash flows have become negative," adding that, "after the maximum-pressure campaign on Iran we have now moved to a campaign of total isolation."

He added that "the campaign of total isolation aims to cut Iran's ties to the outside world."

He continued: "We will continue to pressure Iran by seizing cryptocurrencies and tightening the naval blockade," noting that "Iran launches drones every night but it has lost its surveillance capabilities and its drones hit some ships."
