On Sunday, Turkey said it expects the mandarin crop in the current season to increase by between 10% and 20%, while export data for last year showed Iraq topped the list of buyers in 2025 with imports valued at $360 million.

Cengiz Balık, chairman of the board of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Exporters' Association, said Turkey's mandarin export revenues reached $912 million last year, noting that Iraq ranked first among markets, followed by Russia with $313 million, then Ukraine with $72 million, Poland with $23 million, and Serbia with $19 million.

Balık added that the Turkish sector aims to increase its exports this season with a focus on complying with pesticide residue standards and implementing good agricultural practices. He also pointed to steps to facilitate customs procedures and ensure shipments reach foreign markets on schedule.

The Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Exporters' Association said it is working to strengthen the competitiveness of Turkish products and expand their presence in European markets, Gulf markets and East Asia through participation in trade fairs and the organization of delegations and promotional activities.
