U.S. military tightens blockade on Iran and reroutes 122 ships
U.S. Central Command says 122 commercial vessels have been rerouted since the maritime blockade on Iran resumed.

U.S. Central Command announced on Friday that 122 commercial vessels have been rerouted since the maritime blockade on Iran resumed.
The command said in a post on X that the USS Boxer (LHD-4) continues to operate in territorial waters and to support enforcement of the blockade against Iran.
Separately, a U.S. official said Washington is in a strong position and controls the Strait of Hormuz, adding that his country is not in a hurry to reach an agreement with Iran.
The official added that roughly 40 million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 48 hours.
