Beijing accuses Washington of inventing 'forced labor' allegations and vows to protect its companies

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jia-kun urged the United States to stop interfering in China's internal affairs and obstructing its development under the pretext of human rights.

Guo's remarks came during a daily press conference, commenting on a U.S. step that included adding a number of Chinese companies to a list of firms accused of practicing what is called 'forced labor' in the Xinjiang region.

Guo said the U.S. side continues to fabricate lies related to Xinjiang, denouncing the use of so‑called 'forced labor' as a pretext to arbitrarily suppress Chinese companies, and expressing China's strong displeasure and firm opposition to these practices.

He added that allegations of 'forced labor' are nothing but the 'lie of the century,' he said, claiming they were fabricated by anti‑China elements aiming to destabilize Xinjiang, smear the country's image and obstruct its development.

The spokesperson concluded by affirming that China will take the necessary measures to firmly protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
