Elon Musk threatens to expose and pursue Democrats if they retake control of Congress
Elon Musk warned on X that he will expose and pursue those behind the Democrats if they retake Congress in the November 3 midterm elections, responding to reports of potential probes into his activities.
On Thursday, U.S. billionaire Elon Musk, an ally of President Donald Trump, threatened to pursue and expose those behind the Democrats if they retook control of Congress following the midterm elections scheduled for November 3.
Musk posted a comment on X in response to a news report indicating plans by Democrats to open an investigation into his activities, writing verbatim: "He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword."
He added in his posts that he will reveal who is actually pulling the strings and will pursue them, stressing that he will not stop at targeting the people visible on the surface.
Musk is one of the largest donors to the Republican Party and plays an advisory role to the White House on some issues, while his commercial companies, foremost SpaceX, benefit from government contracts. He also controls Tesla, the electric car company.
Republicans currently control both the Senate and the House, but forecasts indicate Democrats could retake control of the House in the November 3 elections. A regained House would give Democrats chairmanships of investigative committees with broad powers, including the ability to subpoena individuals to testify, which could open the door to investigations into Musk's activities and his relations with the U.S. government.
