Pakistan warns of US‑Iran tensions' impact on trade and regional economy
Islamabad says continued tensions between the United States and Iran are putting pressure on regional economies and trade, and affirms ongoing diplomatic efforts to de‑escalate and restore commercial flows.

Pakistan warned on Tuesday of the implications of the current tensions between the United States and Iran for trade flows and regional economies, affirming that it is continuing diplomatic efforts to lower the level of escalation.
Pakistan's Investment Board Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said in a statement that the continuation of tensions between the two countries is multiplying pressures on regional economies and negatively affecting trade flows, noting that Islamabad continues its diplomatic contacts with the aim of calming the situation.
He added that any additional tensions would increase the economic challenges facing Pakistan, especially given the disruption of its trade relations with Afghanistan and India, and called on all parties to exercise restraint and to work to strengthen regional peace and stability.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh stressed the importance of restoring the flow of trade with regional countries, including Iran, to bridge gaps in investment opportunities and expand exports, linking regional de‑escalation to improvements in domestic economic conditions.
