A meeting is scheduled in Tehran on Monday between senior officials from the countries that signed the Mecca Agreement on joint defense — Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan — and Iranian officials to discuss ways of regional coordination.

Reuters quoted two informed sources saying Saudi Arabia will be represented by Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan by Army Chief Asim Munir, and Turkey by Intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin.

The meeting comes amid regional anticipation, with the possibility of renewed US military operations against Tehran in the near term, and the agenda may include discussing the Houthi issue and steps to deal with the threat that Riyadh considers ongoing.
