President Donald Trump said Friday that talks are under way with Iran and that Tehran wants to negotiate, adding that the war with Iran is not conventional and has entered its seventh month.

President Donald Trump said Friday in remarks to the press that talks are under way with Iran, asserting that the Iranians want to negotiate and continue to speak about it.
Trump added that the war with Iran "is not a conventional war" and has entered its seventh month, noting that Tehran faces major problems, including not paying the salaries of its soldiers and police, and saying that the United States has ample time to deal with the situation.
The president also said the United States is spending relatively small amounts in this war, and that it has more than offset what it spent—by over tenfold—using revenues from Venezuela.
Trump continued, saying his country spent large sums to eliminate Iran's nuclear program, asserting that it succeeded in doing so.
