Iranian Foreign Ministry: Supreme National Security Council Handles Negotiations with Washington, Qalibaf Heads Delegation

The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday said that the management of the diplomatic track and negotiations with the United States is being handled by bodies of the Supreme National Security Council, confirming that Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf continues to head the Iranian negotiating delegation.

The ministry spokesman, Esmail Baqaee, said at his weekly press conference that Tehran worked to "condense the proposal put forward by his country so that it could be implemented within two days," stressing that this amendment aims to facilitate the practical implementation of the proposal.

On the conditions for continuing negotiations with Washington, Baqaee indicated that Tehran’s condition remains the 'seven-day proposal,' with the foreign ministry maintaining this stance as the framework for resuming talks.

Baqaee added that the decision to respond to a message attributed to U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is taken by the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaee, noting that exchanges of messages with the United States continue and that Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi visited Doha to facilitate this communication.

The spokesman said there is an opportunity to implement the Iranian proposal "in the coming few days," affirming that "the basis of diplomacy with America is Iran’s seven-step proposal," according to his remarks during the conference.
