French Interior Ministry: 320,000 participants and clashes in Paris protests
The French Interior Ministry announced that 320,000 people took part in Saturday's protests and that clashes in Paris involved the use of tear gas.

The French Interior Ministry said on Saturday that 320,000 people took part in protests held in several French cities.
A ministry statement said clashes broke out between police and protesters in the capital, Paris, and that security forces used tear gas to confront some gatherings.
Last week the ministry recorded 410,000 participants in last Saturday's protests, and the clashes and rioting then resulted in more than 1,400 people being detained, according to the updated tally.
Calls remain in place to organize a new nationwide strike on November 5.
