Moscow says it detained minor suspected of plotting attack at Tsaritsyno Park after US warning
Moscow said it detained a minor suspected of planning an attack inside Tsaritsyno Park after receiving security information from Washington and a warning from the US embassy.

The Russian Federal Security Service said on Sunday it detained a minor suspected of planning to carry out an attack inside Tsaritsyno Park in Moscow, following security information it received from the United States warning of a potential threat in the capital.
The agency said the detention was based on information provided by Washington about a threat linked to the park in southern Moscow, without disclosing, according to initial information, the detainee’s identity or age.
The FSB also did not specify the nature of the alleged plot or whether others were involved, leaving additional details to follow-up and investigation.
The announcement came a day after the US embassy in Moscow issued a warning about a security threat that could result in large numbers of casualties in Tsaritsyno Park, which prompted local authorities to temporarily close the park and impose access restrictions, according to Russian security sources.
This was not the first such measure following US warnings; in March 2024 the US embassy in Moscow issued a separate warning concerning extremist plans to target large gatherings in the capital.
Tsaritsyno Park is one of the main historic and recreational sites in southern Moscow; it contains a complex of palaces, museums and extensive gardens, and attracts large numbers of visitors, especially on weekends.
